Lyric Poem

These poems are songs without music: intimate, immediate and soul-deep. The lyric form captures a single voice in its most vulnerable state, echoing desire, grief, awe or ache. This is the heartbeat of poetry: personal, pulsing and unafraid.

When emotion becomes melody on the page.

Fearless Giants

if I object, the hands block my face

You Blinded Me

from your diseased spirit

Dreamed He Would Keep Me Safe

while held within his firm embrace

Deceived by His Beauty

found myself enslaved by lustful vibes

Ceased to Be Seen

the woke West works to weaken my mind

Dearest Friend

saw beneath my mask to my crushed heart

Inside Your Aroma

bruises too stark to hide from the start

Tears Bled

rested my tired head on stones of hate

Conquered by Your Fierce and Tender Love

warm, fragile tears revealed I am loved

Denied the Queer

gagged and oppressed by the righteous

Big Daddy

each word I uttered, I heard your voice
