Human experience is great material for poetry
Poetry can stir a maelstrom of thought, feeling, and reflection, even if those feelings are uncomfortable or negative.
Structure and Style
My deep-seated love for structure, patterns, and order is clear in the consistent, easily discernible patterns of my poems.
I’m hopelessly drawn to the musicality of rhyme, a slightly old-fashioned pleasure, and find the ABCB form satisfying. Yes, in certain situations, you may see AABB patterns instead, though they’re less common. Again, always wanting to challenge myself, I have written poems without rhyme – cold sweat moment!
