Lyric Poetry
Lyric poetry, with its blend of sound and feeling, resonates with me more profoundly than any other type of writing. My lyric poems, filled with evocative imagery and raw emotion, explore a wide range of subjects, from personal experiences to broader observations on life. Prepare to delve into a collection of poems dealing with love, loss, sexual experiences, and the realities of living with mental health issues, offering insights into the full spectrum of human experience.
Lyric poetry, with its focus on emotion and personal experience, perfectly complements my fascination with the complexities of human emotions, behaviours, and interactions. Yes, the sheer diversity and unpredictability of human nature fascinate me. I, too, succumb to the irrationality of emotion, as many do; logic often fails me.
Most of my lyric poems are short and follow a pattern of 6, 8 or 10 syllables per line. I’m a sucker for a rhyme, especially those with the satisfying musicality of an ABCB pattern. You might find some that don’t rhyme or fit the pattern.
