We didn’t recognise this land we called home;
so much had changed since the day we were fooled.
Friends blocked friends; relatives loathed relatives;
all deluded that democracy ruled.
Hatred oozed over every street and home,
exposed to dark European desires.
British politicians proved useless while
Anglophobes were allowed to stoke the fires.
Everyone and nobody an expert;
fooled by mass media that spread deceit.
Too many delicious dreams of empire;
a Union drowning in its own conceit.
We sat back while businesses sailed away
and globalism was free to dispossess.
Dark interests silenced our voices while
using democracy to gag and oppress.
